Also notice the chords built off this scale in the key of C; The triads are built from the 1 - 3 - 5 note of each mode within this scale! In other words, the C triad comes from the 1 - 3 - 5 notes of the C major scale. The Dm comes from the 1 - 3 - 5 notes of the same scale overall, but yet a different mode starting on the second degree (D). The Em is built from the 1 - 3 - 5 starting on the third degree - E...simply beautiful! (The seventh chords are the same only adding the 7th) More later on the 6th chords.
