John Boda is considered the premier singer/guitarist of this music in the Chicago area.
Hello John! Just a note to say hello.
I received many "hello messages" from you in the field. Every facility loves you! Each and every 36 hour course.... I tell everyone about you and activity directors shout out loud.... he comes to our facility....our residents love him. We Xerox your business card and give everyone in the class a copy.
Take care and hope to "run into you" soon! Best Wishes, Susan Quattrochi-Tubin

Special programs available such as: George Gershwin - The Man and Music / Irving Berlin - Mr. American Song / Hoagy Carmichael - Stardust Memories / Cole Porter - It's Delovely! / Stephen Foster - American Popular Music Foundation / The Ship of Dreams - Songs about Titanic and songs played on voyage and era.
In addition to his many special music shows, John Boda also is available for special speaking only programs providing very interesting historical information along with many large print handouts of the topics. At this time, his two special speaking only programs are; 1. The Titanic 2. The Eastland John Boda has done extensive research and is an avid student of these two ship disasters and can provide an interesting hour of historical discussion!
He has performed for senior groups, retirement communities, health care facilities, women's clubs, and many other venues full time for the past ten years. While some performers of this venue learn and play just a handful of the same old songs over and over at the same places, John Boda's repertoire is nearly 1000 songs and he also keeps notes of each group as to requests and set list that was played so the next booking will be different each time. Just as each group is different, each performance varies as to tempo, songs and energy level. He can play quiet dinner instrumental mood music...or high energy swing and dance songs, or any combination depending on the crowd
John Boda strongly feels that three things are important in successfully performing this music venue; 1. A high level of musical skill is needed along with and ever growing knowledge and understanding of it's original writers. performers and history. 2. An up-beat and energetic personality is needed to both interact and entertain with the audiences. 3. Lastly, and maybe most unique, a person needs an acute sense of "reading" the crowd and choosing an appropriate set list of songs. John Boda excels in all three areas.
